Jerry Maher is a Catholic priest assigned to San Carlos Cathedral in Monterey. Born in Co. Kerry, Ireland, he attended seminary in Dublin and was ordained for the Monterey diocese. He has served in various parishes and ministries for over the past 25 years including San Luis Obispo, Santa Cruz, and Monterey.

He loves to walk and hike, and enjoys music and song and a glass of wine!!! 

Rev. Elaine Gehrmann is co-minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Monterey Peninsula, 490 Aguajito Road, Carmel. Prior to coming to the Monterey Bay area in 2015, Rev. Elaine had been co-pastor of Unitarian Universalist churches, for five years each, in Watertown, NY, and Champaign-Urbana, IL. She also has worked as an attorney and a family and individual counselor, as well as executive director of a nonprofit organization serving senior citizens and adoptive families of foster children.

Rev. Gehrmann has a Bachelor’s Degree in sociology and anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Divinity from the Starr King School for the Ministry in Berkeley, CA. She later earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Policy Studies from the University of Illinois College of Education, and a J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law. She was granted Ministerial Fellowship in the Unitarian Universalist Association in 1991 and was a member of the Illinois State Bar. She also was a member of the Urbana School District Board of Education for six years. She and her husband Axel have two young adult children.

Rabbi Jeff Schulman is a co-founder and rabbi of the Jewish community Kavanat HaLev (Way of the Heart) in Monterey, CA. He was ordained as rabbi and spiritual director by Aleph: Alliance for Jewish Renewal. Jeff also has a Master of Arts Degree in Judaic Studies from Hebrew College in Newton, MA. Most importantly, he is Susan Alnes’ husband; the proud father of Norah Rahamim and Ross Schulman; and the proud grandfather of Abigail, Amelia, and Wyatt.
